By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has developed the country's energy balance plan until 2035 as part of the implementation of the country's energy security policy, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Bulat Aqchulaqov said, Trend reports citing the press office of the government.

The minister noted that according to the analysis of the data, the level of energy consumption in Kazakhstan is forecast at 153 billion kWh, which will be due to the increasing rate of economic growth and electricity consumption by the population.

“At the same time, the existing power plants are gradually decreasing generation from 108 billion kWh in 2020 to 88.6 billion kWh in 2035. It is proposed to establish the “Green with Nuclear Power” scenario as a target vision for the development of the industry, which involves the commissioning of 17.5 GW of electric power,” the minister added.

In his words, this scenario focuses on green energy sources, gas, and nuclear generation.
