BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. Iran's gas export to Iraq has increased by 1.5 billion cubic meters, from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 to November 30, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He made the remark after the meeting of the Cabinet of Iran in Tehran on November 30.

According to the latest statistics, Iran's gas export to Iraq was about 40 million cubic meters per day.

Owji noted that Iraq currently has no overdue debts to Iran for the latter's gas exports.

The minister also added that Iraq paid about 1 billion euro for gas imports from Iran over last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), and 1.6 billion euro for this year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

“Within the framework of the country’s energy diplomacy, Iran's Oil Ministry has signed contracts with a number of countries, especially Latin American countries, on both oil sales and commissioning of oil refineries,” Owji said.
