BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Iran’s Mashhad Thermal Power Plant in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) generated over 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), Managing Director of Iran's Mashhad Electricity Generation Management Company Abazar Dehganpour said, Trend reports citing Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s (TPPH) website.

According to Dehganpour, of the mentioned volume, 709 million kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units and 609 million kilowatt-hours by gas units of the station.

The director noted that in total, 53.5 percent of the electricity generated for 9 months accounted for the station’s steam units, and 46.5 percent for gas units.

Iran's Mashhad TPP is located on an area of 35 hectares. The power plant has 8 units (4 gas and 4 steam units).

Although the TPP has a capacity to generate 376 megawatt-hours of electricity, the power plant currently generates about 328 megawatt-hours of electricity, as 1 steam unit does not operate.
