BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. The operation carried out in well No. 2 of Darkhovin oil field of Arvandan Oil and Gas Company with three perforation methods (casing, tubing, conveyed methods) for the first time in Iran was successfully completed, head of Iran's Arvandan Oil and Gas Company on technical issues Gholam Hossein Movazi said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
“In order to establish a connection between well No. 2 and the reservoir, the operation was carried out with a triple pipe using perforating guns. The mentioned operation was carried out by the company's specialists,” he said.
According to Movazi, the mentioned well was shut down due to the decrease in pressure during production. After the mentioned operation, it is expected that there will be an increase in production of crude oil from the Darkhovin field.
Movazi noted that certain amount of funds was saved by conducting above mentioned operation.
The Arvandan Oil and Gas Company operates under the auspices of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). At present, the company has capacity to produce 400,000 barrels of crude oil and 7.64 million cubic meters (270 million cubic feet) of gas per day.
Iran's Darkhovin field contains more than 6 billion barrels of crude oil, of which 1.54 billion barrels are extractable. Iran extracts about 130,000 barrels of crude oil from this field per day.
