BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Iran's Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refining Company has reduced gas flaring by over 90 percent, Managing Director of the company Yahya Feyzi said, Trend reports.
Feyzi noted that the company’s flared gas volume went down by 365,000 cubic meters per year.
He explained that the flared gas volume reduced a lot because of the work done for the project that separates hydrocarbon from the amine solution in sour gas processing plants and also because of some repairs.
The director also said that the use of 10,000 cubic meters of distilled water per year was lowered and the burning of 50,000 tons of amine solvent was stopped.
“Overall, the company saved money worth 60 billion rials (about $1.43 million) per year by doing the project and the repairs,” he said.
Iran’s Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refining Company is operating under the East Oil and Gas Production Company (EOGPC). This company has 7 plants (5 gas refineries and 2 dehumidifiers). Each of the gas refineries can process 58 million cubic meters of gas per day. The company can produce natural gas, gas condensate, naphtha, white oil, mazut, solvent, and sulfur products.
