Azerbaijan to participate in int'l fertilizer conference in Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Azerbaijani companies engaged in the production and transportation of fertilizers will participate in the international "Argus Media" conference scheduled for September 18–20 in Istanbul, Türkiye, Trend reports via Argus Media.

"The Argus Fertilizer Caspian, Black Sea, and Eastern European Markets conference will gather more than 400 participants from more than 40 countries," the statement reads.

Participants will engage in discussions regarding prices, tariffs, and logistics within the fertilizer market, explore current global trends, and review reports on production capacities. Furthermore, they will examine methods for exporting fertilizers from the Caspian and Black Sea regions to Europe.

Expected participants include representatives from SOCAR Carbamide Plant, which specializes in nitrogen fertilizer production and has a plant capacity of 650,000 tons per year. Additionally, delegates from the SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department, Azerbaijan Railway CJSC (ADY), and Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO) are anticipated to attend the conference.

In Azerbaijan, SOCAR is responsible for supplying the raw materials (gas) needed for carbamide (nitrogen fertilizer) production and overseeing its exportation.

Following the imposition of sanctions on Russian producers, Europe is actively seeking new fertilizer suppliers and expresses interest in augmenting fertilizer purchases from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Central Asian nations.
