The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) started drilling of new well on the Gala field, SOCAR told Trend. The project depth of well 1524 comprises 2,130 meters. The drilling work started on 20 December. The Absheron Drilling Unit has drilled around 50 wells at the order of Bibiheybatneft OGPU so far. The work is supposed to be over in 1st half-year of 2006.
SOCAR stressed that the unit also drills new wells on the fields Bibiheybat and Balakhany.
