Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has begun launching a catalytic cracking plant at Baku Oil Refining Plant named after Heydar Aliyev, according to SOCAR. "Launching of the plant takes some three days," a source at the State company reported.
Operation of the plant was suspended in July for special repairs, resulting in the production of liquefied gas being completely halted.
Suspension of operation of the catalytic cracking plant resulted in an increase of exported oil. In July, SOCAR increased export of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk by two times to 164,000t. Additional oil volumes were delivered to Israeli Oil Refineries LTD, which already purchased 84,000t of oil from SOCAR in July.
