Georgia, Tbilisi / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Following the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline the volume of oil transportation via Georgia doubled in 2006 compared to 2005.
The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation said on 27 August, that in 2006 that some 14mln tons of oil was transported via Georgia, including 5.6mln tons through the Baku-Supsa pipeline and the rest via the BTC.
Oil transportation via the BTC began in May 2005 and via the Baku-Supsa in January 1999.
