The volume of cash in circulation in Kazakhstan in December 2018 increased by 16.1 percent year-on-year to 2.26 trillion tenge, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.
According to the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the M1 monetary aggregate, including cash and liquid tenge deposits, increased by 12.8 percent to 5.61 trillion tenge.
The M2 indicator, which includes cash, all tenge and liquid foreign currency deposits, increased by 7.1 percent year-on-year to 14.47 trillion tenge.
İn addition, the money supply increased by 7 percent to 20.81 trillion tenge. The monetary base (money of the National Bank of Kazakhstan) in December last year increased by 20.1 percent to 6.65 trillion tenge.
At the same time, the volume of deposits of second-tier banks and other organizations in the accounts of the National Bank increased by 22.9 percent year-on-year to 4.03 trillion tenge.
