Iran discloses volume of investments in ports of Mazandaran Province

More than 2.84 trillion rials (about $67.6 million) have been invested for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the Noshahr and Fereidoonkenar ports of Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) so far, Head of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s (PMO) branch in Mazandaran Province Mohammad Taghi Anzanpour told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Anzanpour, 2.06 trillion rials (about $49 million) of this investment has been invested under the current government (the current government in Iran has been in power since 2013).

Anzanpour added that with this investment, 3 platforms were built in the Noshahr port, a customs office was built in the Fereidoonkenar port and the port’s areas were improved.

The official stressed that the private sector has also invested about 780 billion rials (about $18.5 million) in the Noshahr and Fereidoonkenar ports since 2013.

Anzanpour noted that this investment was mainly spent on the construction of warehouses.

“Last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) more than 1 million tons of products were loaded and unloaded in the Noshahr port. This is an increase of 55 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019),” he said.
