Inflation rate up in Azerbaijan since early 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 13

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Azerbaijan increased by 2.9 percent from January through July 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

The CPI for food, drinks and tobacco products rose by 5.3 percent, non-food products - by 1.3 percent, the paid services to the population - by 1 percent.

The CPI in the country declined by 0.3 percent in July 2020 compared to June 2020 and grew by 2.7 percent compared to July 2019.
