Iran reveals projected investments in industry sector

The volume of investments planned to invest for the establishment of enterprises in the industrial sector in Iran increased by 42.5 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the report, it is planned to invest 2.24 quadrillion rials (about $53.4 billion) worth of investments to the establishment of 18,700 industrial enterprises in Iran over the six months.

"The number of enterprises to be established increased by 46.9 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," the report said.

As many as 41,000 people are envisaged to employ at these enterprises. This is an increase of 36.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the report added.

According to the report, 3,055 licenses were issued to establish industrial enterprises in Iran within 6 months. These licenses increased by 1.4 percent in terms of numbers compared to the same period last Iranian year.

"About 380 trillion rials (about $9.04 billion) have been invested in the establishment of these enterprises. The made investments increased by 72.1 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year," the report noted.

According to the report, a total of 51,600 people were employed with the launch of these enterprises, which is an increase of 8.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
