Azerbaijan predicts drop in 2021 state budget's revenues from paid services

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.22

By Zeyni Jafarov – Trend:

The forecast amount of revenues from paid services of budgetary organizations to the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2021 will make up nearly 700 million manat ($411.7 million), Trend reports on Dec.22 citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance.

According to the ministry, this figure is 104 million manat ($61.2 million), or 12.9 percent less than the forecast for the current year, but 121.1 million manat ($71.2 million), or 20.9 percent more than in 2019.

As reported, compared to the current year the predicted revenues from paid services of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy for 2021 will be less by 50.4 million manat ($29.6 million), of district (city) executive bodies – by 20.9 million manat ($12.3 million), the Interior Ministry - by 20 million manat ($11.7 million), the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan - by 20.4 million manat ($12 million), and the Defense Ministry - by 11.5 million manat ($6.7 million).

The above decreases are due to the cancellation of a number of off-budget sources as a result of relevant changes in legislation, financial sanctions applied for violation of tax laws in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, and administrative fines imposed for violation of road traffic rules.

Other revenues to the state budget provide funds in the amount of 236 million manat, which is 144 million manat, or 2.6 times more than the forecast for this year.

The total forecast consolidated budget revenues of Azerbaijan for 2021 will exceed 23.8 million manat ($14 million), which is 1.46 million manat or $860,000 (6.6 percent) more compared to 2020.

(1 USD = 1.7 manat on Dec.22)
