The total volume of the Azerbaijani population's bank deposits made up over 8.37 billion manat ($4.93 billion) as of early March, 2021, down 3.6 percent or 314.5 million manat ($185.1 million) compared to 2M2020, Trend reports referring to the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
About 10.9 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for regions, the CBA report said.
Nearly 49.9 percent or 4.18 billion manat ($2.46 billion) of all deposits in Azerbaijan fell on the national currency, the report reads.
In Baku, the total volume of deposits amounted to over 7.4 billion manat ($4.3 billion), of which 3.39 billion ($2 billion) - in national currency (45.4 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate in the entire country as of early March, 2021 amounted to 3.1 percent, in Baku - 3 percent.
