Total assets of Azerbaijani banks increase per annum

The total assets of Azerbaijani banks as of early June 2021 exceeded 33.8 billion manat ($19.9 billion), which is by 8.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

During the reporting period, the biggest part (43.5 percent) accounted for the issued loans in the structure of banks' assets. This figure increased by 2.3 percent for the year up to 14.7 billion manat ($8.6 billion).

After deducting target reserves, the net volume of issued loans amounted to 13.5 billion manat ($7.9 billion).

The volume of banks' cash increased by 18.9 percent to 1.8 billion manat ($1.05 billion). Investments in securities are estimated at 4.7 billion manat ($2.8 billion), while a year earlier this figure was 3.2 billion manat $1.9 billion (increasing by 48.7 percent for the year).

Fixed assets increased by two percent on an annualized basis and amounted to 745.4 million manat ($438.5 million) in the structure of long-term assets of banks.

Intangible assets increased by 1.6 percent to 149.3 million manat ($87.8 million). Other assets as of early June 2021 were estimated at 2.01 billion manat ($1.2 billion).

The aggregate capital of banks as of early June increased by 4.2 percent and amounted to 4.7 billion manat ($2.8 billion). At the same time, the own capital exceeded 4.4 billion manat ($2.6 billion) while capital reserves - 330.6 million manat ($194.5 million).
