The balance of bank loans in Iran increased by 43.3 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
According to the report, the balance of bank loans amounted to 28 quadrillion rials (about $667 billion) in the first month.
The balance of deposits also increased by 40.1 percent within the first month compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, the balance of bank deposits in Iran amounted to 38.9 quadrillion rials (about $926 billion) over the reporting month.
The following table presents the balance of loans, foreign currency deposits of banks and financial institutions for the reported one-month period, according to the official exchange rate ($1=42,000 rials):
