Google LLC has become a value added tax (VAT) payer in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the Tax Code of Uzbekistan, from the beginning of 2020, foreign firms that provide services to individuals in electronic form are required to pay a 15-percent VAT.
Foreign legal entities that sell services and goods in electronic form in Uzbekistan are recognized as taxpayers in terms of such services provided to individuals.
In previous years, subsidiaries of the company - Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Google Voice Inc, Google Commerce Limited and Google Ireland Limited were registered in the country.
The Tax Committee has created a VAT office that allows foreign Internet companies operating in Uzbekistan to register and pay taxes.
