BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks increased by 14.23 percent and reached 20.3 billion manat ($11.9 billion) as of April 30, 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, as of April 30, 2022, the loan portfolio of the banks amounted to 17.8 billion manat ($10.4 billion).
Moreover, the share of business loans in the structure of the banks' loan portfolio, in the reporting period, reached54.5 percent or 11 billion manat ($6.4 billion) with an increase of 7.55 percent over the year, while consumer loans totaled 29.79 percent, or 6 billion manat ($3.5 billion), with an increase of 22.91 percent in a year.
At the same time, mortgage loans reached 15.69 percent or 3.19 billion manat ($1.8 billion) with an increase of 24.41 percent per year.
The total assets of banks as of April 30, 2023 amounted to 45.5 billion manat ($26.7 billion), while total liabilities totaled 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 billion).
For comparison, the total assets of banks as of April 1, 2023 amounted to 44.8 billion manat ($26.3 billion), while total liabilities reached 38.9 billion manat ($22.8 billion).
