Azerbaijan updates major parameters of state budget expenditures for 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has published the updated main parameters of expenditures in the state budget of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Finance, it is forecasted that the expenditures of the revised state budget of Azerbaijan for 2023 will amount to over 36.6 billion manat ($21.5 billion), which is 9.8 percent more than the previously approved figure.

Moreover, as a financial support for expenses, the revenues of the state budget of 2023 were increased by 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion) and the deficit by 155 million manat ($91.2 million). In addition, an additional financial reserve of about 1.1 billion manat (647.1 million) has been created as part of budget expenditures.

The Karabakh Economic Zone and Eastern Zangezur have received 2.26 billion manat ($1.33 billion) of the 4.4 billion manat ($2.6 billion) in financial resources for rehabilitation operations. Additionally, a 5.26 billion manat ($3.1 billion) boost in funding for the "Big Return" program is anticipated this year, in general.

Moreover, in order to increase Azerbaijan's defense capability, special defense expenditures were also increased from 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion) to 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion).

The revenues of the revised state budget of Azerbaijan for 2023 will amount to over 33.9 billion manat ($19.9 billion), which is 10.1 percent more than the previously approved figure.
