Tax revenues in Iran growing

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Tax revenues in Iran increased by 52 percent, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

As indicated in the statistics of Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA), Iran received taxes worth 2.82 quadrillion rials (about $67.2 billion) in 5 months.

Direct taxes (includes legal tax, wealth tax, income tax) accounted for 1.8 quadrillion rials (about $42.8 billion) of the total tax revenues for 5 months.

Tax revenues from legal entities amounted to 1.11 quadrillion rials (about $26.4 billion).

Also, wealth tax revenues in Iran for 5 months amounted to 120 trillion rials (about $2.86 billion), and income tax revenues - 414 trillion rials (about $9.87 billion).

In addition, tax payments on goods and services for the reporting period stood at 1.01 quadrillion rials (about $24 billion) in 5 months.

Overall, tax revenues in Iran amounted to 4.7 quadrillion rials (about $112 billion) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023). This is an increase of 54 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
