BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Iranian banks granted loans worth approximately 27.6 quadrillion rials (about $656 billion) in various economic sectors in the country in the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.
Data from Iran's Central bank shows the distribution of loans for various sectors of Iran's economy:
- Services sector: 11.5 quadrillion rials (about $274 billion);
- Industrial and mining sectors: about 9.9 quadrillion rials (about $236 billion);
- Trade sector: about 2.75 quadrillion rials (about $65.4 billion);
- Agriculture sector: around 1.85 quadrillion rials (about $44 billion);
- Housing and construction sectors: about 1.53 quadrillion rials (about $36.4 billion);
- Other areas: 4.67 trillion rials (about $111 million).
The loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, the purchase of personal assets, the purchase of apartments, etc.
