ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 10. Turkmenistan has a total of 2,145 ATMs as of the beginning of January this year, which remained unchanged compared to the previous month, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the capital, Ashgabat, leads in ATM concentration with 452 machines, followed by Mary (443), and Lebap (437).
Dayhanbank State Commercial Bank holds the highest number of ATMs at 1,022, trailed by Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank with 441 and Turkmenbashi Joint-Stock Commercial Bank with 356 units.
Over the last seven years, the quantity of ATMs in Turkmenistan has grown by over twofold. Hence, if as of January 1, 2016, there existed 924 ATMs in Turkmenistan, by January 1, 2024, this number had surged to 2,145.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has demonstrated the sustainable development of its financial sector, which is reflected in various aspects of its economic system.
The introduction of modern technologies, such as electronic payments and an increase in the ATM network, contributes to improving financial accessibility for the population.
