Sony DSC-T200 is First Cyber-shot with 16:9 LCD

( Mobile ) - It's one of these surprising but true kind of moments. The Sony DSC-T200 is the first Cyber-shot camera to rock a 16:9 aspect ratio LCD, indicating that more people are going widescreen, even with their stills. Many cameras these days have shooting modes that allow for 16:9 prints -- great for wallpapers on your computer's widescreen display -- but their preview displays are typically still of the 4:3 persuasion.

What's more, the 3.5-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus on the Cyber-shot DSC-T200 features a touchscreen interface. This is designed so that even the most inept of soccer moms and the most technophobic of grandmas can take world class pictures. unlike most slim cameras that just do 3x optical zoom, the T200 gets in close with a 5x optical zoom Vario-Tessar lens.

Rounding out the specs are an 8.1 megapixel imaging sensor, 20mm profile, rapid auto focus, HDTV output, visual effects, face detection, and internal memory for background music. Current selling price is $499.99.
