Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and the Federal Department on Environment, Transport, Power engineering and Communications of the Switzerland Confederation have signed a memorandum of mutual understanding on cooperation in communication and information technologies in Davos on 25 January.
The document was signed by Ali Abbasov, the minister of communication and information technologies of Azerbaijan and Morris Leyenberger, the head of the Federal Department of Switzerland.
The document states the leading role of Azerbaijan in one of the big projects on the information technologies in the region initiated by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and in the establishment of the high-speed information magistral between Europe and Asia.
The memorandum also envisages the modernization and development of the mail network between Azerbaijan and Switzerland and the cooperation in information technologies.
