Azerfon Extends Contract with Berke MMC

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 March / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / Berke MMC the subsidiary of Suisse Tunc Holding AG in Azerbaijan has renewed its contract with Azerfon for maintenance-failure operations of the existing GSM Nokia Siemens Networks. Only through this contract which is extended until the end of 2008, will Berke MMC generate a turnover of US $2,250,430 in the current year.

Tunc Holding AG was founded in November 2007 and provides, through its seven subsidiaries, engineering and support services in the area of telecommunications systems. The Tunc Holding subsidiaries are active in 11 countries in Asia Minor, Western and Central Asia as well as in Eastern Europe. Tunc Telekomunikasyon A.S. as the operational nerve centre of the group is located in Ankara, Turkey. The Turkish subsidiary operates as a highly qualified provider in the GSM sector since 1992. The broad range of services includes site survey and infrastructure to the erection and maintenance of telecommunications systems. Since 1996, the activities have been continuously expanded to include the area of electricity distribution systems with associated services, renewable energy and internet technology.

Azerfon joint venture (trade mark Nar Mobile) received a license to provide GSM mobile service in Azerbaijan at the end of 2005. The operator began commercial activity from 21 March 2007. The number of subscribers of Nar Mobile exceeds 300,000.
