Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 May / corr. Trend S.Babayeva/ All the postal operations of Azerpocht state company will be automatized by the end of this year, within the project Development of Finance Services realized together with the World Bank (WB), the company reported on 7 May.
"Winner of the tender, the consortium Hewlett Packard, Colvir and Sinam has already started work," the company said.
Tender was issued on obtaining postal - financial and automatized operation system. The software packet includes the amalgamation of local network of Azerpocht to the internal and external information systems. The company should assist Azerpocht to test a system, hold training for technicians and accountants, supply equipment for data-computing center of the Ministry, install and test it.
Azerpocht said that the system includes numerous modules on both financial and postal issues. It consists of finance modules such as payment, deposit, treasure, management of assets and liabilities, management of liquidity, informational system of management and automation of book-keeping.
Postal modules are a system of tracking postal operations and automatization of postal services.
The State company said that several modules, especially in book-keeping and full automatization of postal operations will be put into exploitation by the end of the year. Remaining work in this regard will be fulfilled in 2008.
"All work is carried out according to the schedule and details of introducing it for Azerpocht is being discussed, as it was successfully introduced in postal system of Kazakhstan," the company said.
The new system will be first tested in the head office of Azerpocht, in its one branch and five postal divisions in Baku. All postal divisions of Baku will gradually join this system by 2010.
The project Development of Finance Services aiming at modernization of postal network of the country costs $175mln. WB will grant $12.25 worth loan, with the remaining part being allocated by the Azerbaijani government.
