The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry's Aztelecom Production Unit has extended CDMA wireless network coverage to Ganja, Aztelecom Press Service head Vidadi Ismayilov told Trend .
He added that the number of CDMA network subscribers is 19,000. The network covers Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, Shamakhi, Ganja, Lankaran, Zagatala, Guba, Khachmaz, Masalli, Shamkir, Imishli, Mingachevir, Sheki, Kurdamir, Gakh, Balakan, Sabirabad, Agdam, Fizuli, Beylagan, Agdash, Agsu , Jalilabad, Yevlakh and Goychay.
CDMA is an alternative to DSL broadband access, and allows easier access to the Web, particularly in remote areas where the cost of cable is unreasonably high.
