High-tech center built in Baku

The construction of a high-tech center of Baku State University has completed, the university told Trend Oct. 11.

Currently, the negotiations are underway in regard to the procurement of the necessary technical equipment for the center, which will be carried out through tender.

"In general, the cost of launching the center is estimated at several million manats. The equipment is quite expensive and its cost reaches $450,000," the source said.

This refers to laboratory, methodical, experimental and research devices, the purchase of which is being negotiated with global manufacturers.

The deliveries of equipment, as previously reported, have been scheduled for the end of the year, and the commissioning of the center will be carried out in 2019 and will be timed to the 100th anniversary of the university.

The seven-storey building of the center of high technology is located on the territory of the university, next to the Faculty of Chemistry.

Physicists, biologists, chemists, ecologists, and scientists in the field of pharmaceutics will be involved in the work of the center. The center will train young researchers and serve to improve the level the country's human resources.
