Single Registry for Social Protection has been used experimentally in Syrdarya region since October 2019. A draft document on the phased introduction of the system in the remaining 13 regions of Uzbekistan is currently under preparation.
All costs are covered by the grant funds raised by the UNICEF office in Uzbekistan ($610,000 for the period from 2019 through 2021).
To date, Development Pathways Ltd. has used these funds for the mentioned system, including shipment of server equipment, personal computers, printers and other equipment have been purchased for pilot work in Syrdarya province; and work continues to improve the system and its functions.
In addition, $5 million from the World Bank will be raised by the end of this year for further work on the mentioned system. These funds will be used to purchase the necessary server resources, computer equipment, train staff, etc.
"The register is an automated information system, which itself, without human assistance, determines the need of a family (citizen) to be assigned social benefits, as well as it implements and monitors payments, keeps records of expenses," the message said.
