BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. This week, it was announced that the work to expand mobile communication infrastructure is underway in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

It is planned to provide high-speed internet to the country's most remote villages by the end of 2024. By this period, the minimum internet speed will be 25 Mbps.

Moreover, the implementation of the cybersecurity strategy in the financial sector is going to begin in 2023.The strategy will be designed for three years.

Azerbaijan's SINAM IT company and the Azerbaijani office of Lithuanian BS/2 company signed a memorandum of partnership to develop and integrate into ATMs a solution that will allow to process and issue loans through the ATMs.

The number of blocked cyber threats against Azerbaijani public agencies in the AzStateNet network amounted to 81 million malicious links, 873,000 malware, 83,000 infected files in the third quarter of 2022. During the accounting period, a total of 778 indicators of compromise were identified and blocked; cyberattacks against public institutions were also prevented. Out of total indicators, 443 threats were detected during an internal investigation, while 335 threats – based on appeals from state bodies. In addition, the operation of 40 fake domains similar to those of government agencies was suspended.

Furthermore, the Teknofest International Aviation, Space, and Technology Festival is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan every year.

Moreover, a total of 84 percent of Azerbaijani banks have developed their own mobile apps and banking. It is expected that all bank in Azerbaijan will have their own mobile apps soon. The delivery of banking services by local banks is going to focus on the online environment rather than the physical one. Although banks are engaged in the digitalization of their products and services, they continue to open their branches in districts, as well as in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan. It is also scheduled to establish service centers in the liberated territories.
