STATE PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF IT IN AZERBAIJAN TO BE ADOPTED
The state program for the development of the information and communications technologies in Azerbaijan (2005-2008) is expected to be adopted this week, Ali Abbasov, the Communications and Information Technologies Minister, told Trend.
This program is directed at the implementation of the economic and structure reforms, upgrade and expansion in the communications and information technologies sphere, development and carrying out of the projects for transference to information society.
The major objective of the state program is to develop communications and information technologies in Azerbaijan, as well as carry out the National Strategy for development of the ICT in the country, plan and implement projects under proposes and directions of the documents.
Under the program it is planned to establish infrastructure of communications and information technologies up to advanced requirements, to assimilate new technologies and transition to the information society.
