In the first five month of the current Iranian year (March 21-August 22, 2019), 299,222 Azerbaijani citizens visited Iran's Ardabil province via its Bileh Savar border crossing, Director General of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Nadir Fallahi told reporters, Trend reports via IRNA.
Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Iran's Ardabil increased by 25 percent, Fallahi said.
In the first five months of the last Iranian year, 239,455 Azerbaijani citizens visited Ardabil.
Fallah noted that in the first five months of the current Iranian year, 27,700 Iranian citizens left the country via Bileh Savar border crossing, while 32,000 Iranian entered.
In total, the number of people using Bileh Savar border crossing increased by 18 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian year, compared to the same period of the last year.
