Uzbekistan has exempted ambulances, which are imported to Uzbekistan by non-governmental medical organizations, from import customs duties, Trend reports with reference to Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan.

Recently, a presidential decree was adopted to create additional favorable conditions for the provision of emergency medical services by non-governmental medical organizations of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the decree, new ambulances imported to Uzbekistan by non-governmental medical organizations for their own needs are exempt from import customs duty until 1 January 2022.

This benefit also applies to the customs clearance of new ambulances under the customs warehouse regime for more than six months imported by non-state medical organizations until the official publication of this decision.

“In case of misuse of the vehicles, the amount of unpaid import customs duty will be charged to the state budget with the application of financial sanctions,” the message said.
