Activity of Iran’s Astara ports revealed

A total of about 20,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 22-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).

While in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020), 20,600 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port, the report added.

According to the report, 13,400 tons of goods were exported and 6,600 tons were imported through the Astara port during the reporting month.

“About 325 tons of essential products, 73 tons of metal products, 8,800 tons of construction materials and mining materials, 65 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 5,450 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Astara port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year,” the report said.

According to the report, 5,260 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar goods, and 22 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded during the reporting month.

In total, 5.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and 4.5 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.
