The head of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran promised the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Zones to remove the obstacles to the construction of Chabahar Free Zone Airport, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones Hamidreza Momeni met the head of the Civil Aviation Organization Siavash Amir Makri.
In the meeting, the head of the Civil Aviation Organization promised to speed up the process of completing the Chabahar Airport Construction project.
According to reports, the construction of the Chabahar Free Zone airport has been stopped in recent years. At present, flights to Iran's ocean port are operated through Konarak Airport, which is about 53 km from the port of Chabahar.
The former Minister of Roads and Urban Development said in November last year that the construction of Chabahar Airport would be completed soon.
