BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Construction work on a 39-kilometer-long highway has been completed following the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on measures for the construction of a highway in the Hajigabul district, Trend reports.
The data of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads shows that as part of the reconstruction work carried out on the highway, which had been operated for a long time without overhaul and had undergone deformation, it was reconstructed to the fourth technical class.
Damaged sections of the road were dismantled, the ground pavement was raised and expanded, the road was reshaped, and the road was widened in certain sections. Roadbed construction was carried out in accordance with the project.
The width of the road, which will consist of two lanes, has been increased to 10 meters, including a six-meter carriageway and two-meter shoulders.
Old drainage pipes of various diameters along the route have been replaced with new ones, and when necessary, new reinforced concrete drainage pipes of various diameters have been installed.
As part of the project, a new three-span reinforced concrete bridge was constructed to replace the outdated metal bridge located on the Pirsaat river near Udullu village.
As a result, a modern road infrastructure has been created through the installation of kilometer signs, road signs, information boards, and signaling posts, as well as the application of horizontal road markings to ensure smooth traffic on the road.
This highway links eight settlements with a population of 12,000 people. The reconstruction of the road will improve transportation between these settlements and facilitate cargo and passenger transport, which will have a positive impact on the social well-being of the population living along the road as well as on the development of agriculture.
