BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Retail trade volume in Kazakhstan increased by 20.8 percent and reached 1.05 trillion Kazakh tenge ($2.22 billion) in January 2023, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.
The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade amounts to 27.6 percent, while the non-food products share stands at 72.4 percent level.
Among non-food products, pharmaceutical goods, engine oil, cars, computers, and electric appliances registered the largest increase in retail sale volume.
In regional terms, Almaty recorded the largest increase (31.7 percent). The growth of 12.2 percent made Astana the runner-up, while Karaganda and East-Kazakhstan regions recorded growth of 8.4 and 6.2 percent.
