ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 4. Japan, having invested $8 billion in Kazakhstan, ranks among the top ten largest investors in the Kazakh economy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said while receiving Toshiaki Endo, Chairman of the Japanese Parliamentary Friendship League, Trend reports.
Furthermore, Tokayev also noted that the trade turnover between the two countries reached $2 billion in 2022 and highlighted the remaining huge potential for its development.
The meeting cast light that the economic dimension plays a significant role in Kazakh-Japanese relations. President Tokayev emphasized the substantial opportunities for trade and investment cooperation and expressed Kazakhstan's keen interest in expanding economic collaboration.
In turn, Toshiaki Endo affirmed the Japanese Parliament's readiness to expand mutually beneficial partnerships with Kazakhstan in all spheres.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed pressing matters related to further improving cooperation and strengthening parliamentary interaction between Kazakhstan and Japan.
