KazMunayGas records surge in oil product processing in 2022

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 18. The volume of oil processing by Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas national company reached 17.8 million tons in 2022, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KMG Dmitry Makeev said at a press conference, Trend reports.

As Makeev pointed out, these are the record-breaking figures in the history of Kazakhstan's oil processing industry. For instance, in 2015 the company processed some 14.2 million tons of oil, while in 2018 - 15.4 million tons.

As such, according to KMG, the production of automotive gasoline in the reporting period reached 5 million tons (2.8 million tons in 2015 and 4 million tons in 2018).

Furthermore, aviation fuel production in 2022 reached 666,000 tons, compared to 285,000 tons and 379,000 tons in 2015 and 2018, respectively.

The production of bitumen over the last year amounted to 775,000 tons, which is also an increase, compared to 202,000 tons produced in 2015, and 294,000 tons - in 2018.

Meanwhile, diesel fuel production by the KMG in 2022 totaled 5.2 million tons (3.9 million tons in 2015, and 4.4 million tons in 2018).

Makeev noted that the total tax payments for three enterprises - Atyrau Oil Refinery (ANPZ), Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PNHZ), and Shymkent Oil Refinery (PKOP) - amounted to 400 billion tenge ($900 million) in 2022, compared to below 100 billion tenge ($225 million) through the years of 2017-2019.
