BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. New prospects for cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan include expanding collaboration in creative industries, tourism, and environmental sustainability, Marco Beretta, President of the Italo-Kazakh Trade Association (ACIK), said in an exclusive interview with Trend.
"New prospects for cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan include expanding collaboration in creative industries, tourism, and environmental sustainability. Additionally, sectors such as healthcare, technology, and education offer significant opportunities for partnership. Italy's interest in these sectors is driven by the potential for mutual growth and the opportunity to leverage Italy's technological and industrial strengths to support Kazakhstan's development goals," he said.
According to Beretta, ACIK brings together companies from all sectors and discusses potential sectors for investment with Italian companies.
"In my opinion, all of them can bring profit to both sides. For this, we have developed a special project called Road to Qazaqstan; this is a branded special truck that will travel through the cities of Italy and introduce companies located in the regions of Italy to the wonderful opportunities and natural beauties of Kazakhstan," he noted.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Italy amounted to $8.2 billion from January through May 2024. This is 21 percent more year-on-year ($6.7 billion).
At the same time, exports to Italy dominated trade turnover, at $7.7 billion, or 22.4 percent more than in January–May 2023. Imports from Italy rose by 2.5 percent during the aforementioned period, totaling $505 million. From January through May 2023, imports totaled $492.8 million.
