Kyrgyzstan's international reserves in 2012 increased by $232 million up to $2.66 billion, Head of Monetary Operations Department of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Raushan Seytkasymova said, KyrTAG reported on Monday.

According to the statement, the main factors that played role in the augmentation of international reserves were the receipt of foreign currency by the Kyrgyz government from donor countries, the purchase of gold at domestic market, as well as income from the management of international reserves.

As it is mentioned in the statement, international reserves amounted to $2.66 billion as of Dec.31, 2012, increasing by $232.1 million or 12.7 percent from early last year .
