BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 20. Kyrgyzstan's trade with Uzbekistan totaled $43.764 million in January 2024, which is a 39-percent rise compared to the same month in 2023, where trade amounted to $31.475 million, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan reveals that exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $16.970 million in January 2024, an increase of 32.9 percent from the $12.768 million recorded in January 2023.
Conversely, imports from Uzbekistan reached $26.793 million in January 2024, which is an increase of 43.2 percent compared to $18.707 million in January 2023.
In the overall trade structure of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan accounted for 3.7 percent, with exports comprising 9.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total exports and imports making up 2.7 percent.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase year-on-year. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
