BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 18. MasterCard payment in circulation in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, amounted to 31,920 as of December 31, 2023, which is a decrease of 4 percent compared to the 33,309 at the end of 2022, Trend reports.
According to data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek
accounted for 57.7 percent of all Mastercard cards circulating in
Kyrgyzstan as of the reporting date. By the end of 2023, the
capital's share of the total national circulation of payment cards
had risen to 50.9 percent.
By the end of 2023, the total number of Mastercard payment cards in
circulation in Kyrgyzstan had reached 55,322, accounting for 0.8
percent of the country's total card circulation. This figure
declined by 2.4 percent from the 56,685 Mastercard cards in
circulation at the end of 2022. Mastercard cards' share has also
reduced from 1.1 percent of the total in 2022.
By December 31, 2023, the total number of bank payment cards in
Kyrgyzstan had topped 6.89 million.
