BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 16. Turkic countries should review diversifying their energy routes, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said at the 4th Meeting of the Energy Ministers from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Bishkek today, Trend reports.
"Today's summit is another step towards strengthening cooperation and interaction among Turkic countries in the field of energy. Developing green energy sources and exporting green energy to global markets are priority areas in many countries' energy policies," he also said.
The minister highlighted that Kyrgyzstan offers significant potential for cooperation on hydropower projects and renewable energy initiatives.
"The energy ministries of Turkic countries should consider the diversification of energy routes and actively participate in the implementation of promising energy projects," he emphasized.
The participants expressed their readiness to explore the establishment of a regional center for technologies and 'green' initiatives with the support of the OTS. This center would study sources of green energy in Turkic countries, including solar, hydro, wind, and other renewable resources.
The ministers also noted progress in the development and transfer of green energy between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, a joint communiqué of the energy ministers of the OTS member states on strengthening cooperation in the energy sector was signed.
