BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. Tajikistan produced a record volume of electricity in 2022, said President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Trend reports via official website of the Tajik president.
“For the first time in the history of Tajikistan, the volume of electricity generation amounted to more than 21 billion kWh,” Rahmon underlined.
He noted that in general, despite the global crisis, Tajikistan managed to maintain macroeconomic stability.
“Despite the negative impact of the financial and economic crisis and in the very difficult and sensitive conditions of the modern world, stable development of the national economy was ensured last year in order to achieve the country's strategic goals in the amount of 8 percent,” he said.
Remarkably, about 95 percent of Tajikistan's energy is produced by hydroelectric power plants of the country.
