DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 5. The authorities of Tajikistan plan to triple the country’s electricity export by 2030, aiming to reach 10 billion kilowatt-hours per year, Daler Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, said during the Tajikistan-Germany investment forum in Dushanbe, Trend reports.

He noted that this goal is expected to be achieved through the implementation of various energy projects, notably CASA-1000, which involves the installation of power transmission lines connecting Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Juma mentioned that Tajikistan wants to invite their partners from Germany to join this sector and contribute to their plans for energy development.

CASA-1000 is an infrastructure project aiming to transmit 1,300 megawatts of surplus electricity from Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) to high-demand electricity markets in South Asian countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) by building new energy infrastructure.

According to the Statistical Agency of the country, Tajikistan produced around 10.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first half of the current year, with 95 percent of it generated by hydroelectric power plants.

The delegation of German investors arrived in Dushanbe to participate in an investment forum that aims to discuss the expansion of cooperation between entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and Germany and explore investment opportunities in the country.
