DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 13. Tajikistan plans to install and upgrade equipment for 7,600 communication stations with the involvement of China's Huawei Trend reports.

According to the Communication Service under the Tajikistan government, the memorandum outlining the participation of Huawei in these projects was signed by the head of the Tajikistan's Communication Service, Beg Sabur, and the General Director of Huawei Technologies Tajikistan, Ma Tian.

The document outlines cooperation and the engagement of communication service experts, mobile network operators, and Huawei Technologies Tajikistan specialists in developing a unified project.

This project aims to upgrade, develop, and provide 7,600 base stations compliant with GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G standards for mobile communication networks in the country.

According to the Speedtest Global Index rating, Tajikistan was ranked 136th in the world for mobile internet speed, with an average download speed of 9.76 Mbit/s and an upload speed of 5.48 Mbit/s as of the end of September 2023. Tajikistan had the lowest grade among Central Asian countries (data for Turkmenistan was not provided).
