DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 22. The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia surpassed $1.5 billion from January through November 2023, which is a 0.7-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
Data from Tajikistan's Statistical Committee under the President indicates that Russia stood as Tajikistan's primary trade partner. Imports from Russia to Tajikistan during this period amounted to around $1.4 billion, accounting for 27.3 percent of Tajikistan's total imports. Tajikistan's exports to Russia exceeded $128 million, comprising 7.9 percent of the country's overall exports.
China secured the second spot in trade volume with Tajikistan, reaching approximately $1.3 billion. Among the CIS countries, Tajikistan's trade turnover exceeded $1 billion with Kazakhstan, totaling $1.03 billion over 11 months, which is a 20-percent decrease compared to a similar period last year.
According to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russian investments in the Tajik economy reached 148 billion rubles ($1.6 billion) in the first nine months of 2023.
