Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on appointment of Arslan Sopyev as Chairman of the "Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk" State Concern, says the report of the Government of Turkmenistan Sept.12.
The subunits of the concern are engaged in the construction of oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas fields; reconstruction of refining facilities; construction of steel and concrete tanks and so on.
At this stage, the state concern, together with Turkmengaz state concern carries out a project for the construction of the longest "East-West" highway in the country, which is scheduled for launch in 2015.
In addition to existing networks this communication can provide the actively discussed Trans-Caspian gas pipeline with the raw material.
The Trans-Caspian gas pipeline can be laid on the bottom of the sea to the coast of Azerbaijan, and from there Turkmen gas can potentially reach markets in Turkey and Europe.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves, currently exporting gas to markets in China, CIS countries and Iran.
